United Arab Emirate's Largest Emirate and Capital City - Abu Dhabi

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

If you're planning a trip to United Arab Emirates, the journey won't be complete until you've successfully checked Abu Dhabi off your bucket list. Listed as one of the safest cities in the world, every world traveler knows Abu Dhabi has so much to offer. Whether you are traveling alone, with a group of friends and family, or for business, there are tons of activities and adventures awaiting.

Things To Know Before Visiting

  1. Bring an adapter with the square three-pin socket. Electricity supply is 220/240 volts.

  2. Apply for a visa upon arrival or through your local embassy. An eye scan is required upon arrival at the airport.

  3. Wi-Fi is everywhere. Hotels also offer complimentary Internet. If desired, phone service plans can also be purchased.

  4. Always carry cash and pay in the local currency to avoid high international banking and ATM fees.

  5. Taxis can be expensive. Download Careem (Uber) as it is very affordable. Buses also operate around the clock and only cost one dirham.

Best Things To Do in Abu Dhabi

UAE's largest emirate boasts numerous attractions and shopping centers like Marina Mall and Ferrari World. It is an excellent place to learn about the country's traditions and history. Tour one of the world's largest mosque - the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, explore the Falcon Hospital or stroll Heritage Village. Cultural sites include the Louvre Museum, Corniche Beach, Al Jahili Fort and Palace Museum in Al Ain. For the best views, take a boat tour to sightsee and view the skyline and high rises or soak up the many amenities that Yas Island has to offer.

Check out photos from a few of my trips to Abu Dhabi. If you are planning a trip, Corniche is the best place to stay as it is full of shopping, restaurants, malls, skyscrapers, beaches, parks, playgrounds, and fountains and within close proximity to the top attractions.
