One of Vietnam’s most vivid and colorful cities

If you’re not familiar with Nha Trang, just know that it’s located on the south central coast of Vietnam. Set against a colorful backdrop of white sandy beaches, mountains and islands, Nha Trang is a beautiful city offering a myriad of sightseeing and recreational activities. Home to half a million of people and remnants of the Champa Kingdom, Buddhist temples, and gothic-style Catholic churches, this city will keep you busy for days. To help with your experience, read on to discover a complete list of attractions in Nha Trang. Choose what appeals to you and enjoy!

Long Son Pagoda

It can be seen from anywhere in town! Atop the foothills of the Trai Thuy Mountains, Long Son Pagoda is the famous large white Buddha statue seated on a lotus throne. Home to many Buddhist monks, behind the temple is a path of 152 steps leading to the statue and a bird’s eye view of sea and city views.

Nha Trang Cathedral

Overlooking the Train Station, it is the largest church in the city. This remnant of French architecture is a must see for any visitor.

Tran Phu Beach

Travel down Tran Phu Street - Nha Trang’s most popular street. On one side, you will find that it’s complete with many restaurants, bars, cafes and high end hotels with the Tran Phu Beach on the other side.

I-Resort Spa

Mud baths are very common throughout Vietnam. Not only is it therapeutic with its many medicinal healing properties, but it can also be fun and enjoyable. Partake in this effective therapeutic cleansing and you will find that the benefits are rewarding. Enjoy a 45-minute soak in a mud bath, a private mineral pool as you sip coffee or tea, or a private bungalow for a day. I-Resort is highly recommended and a must visit for any trip here!

Dam Market

A trip to Nha Trang is incomplete until you’ve visited the Dam Market. The most popular market in all of the city, inside you will find everything Vietnamese - from clothes and shoes to electronics and household goods. There is also a food court for those who loves to eat while shopping.

Thap Po Nagar

Dedicated to the goddess of the country, Yan Po Nagar. This temple is currently still in use by descendants of the Cham culture for worship.

For me, I found the small gems on the outskirts of the city to be the most precious and special highlights of the visit. Because most attractions are within close proximity of each other, tourists have easy access to many destinations via bicycle, motorcycle, or on foot. There’s even the option to opt for guided tours if preferred. Most tours are inclusive of hotel transfers, meals and even English speaking tour guides. Traffic is insane and walking is risky and dangerous as Vietnamese do not believe in yielding to pedestrians.

If you’re considering a trip, hopefully this guide helps aid you in your planning process. The city of Nha Trang is geared toward tourists as it is also a popular destination for Russians! You’re likely to see one in every three people you meet. Don’t fret! Get out and see the sites that surround the city and find those real gems that don’t receive as much attention as others.
